Assembling the Jumper
The sewing only took me a few hours, and then the button holes. This pattern is a classic, with hidden pockets, princess seam bodice, and an A line skirt. There is also an option for a back tie to ensure your own fit.
The bodice is not lined, taking advantage of bias tape finishing. Instructions are included if you prefer to line your bodice. I chose a nice satin seam binding tape that matched the fabric. This keeps the jumper nice and light for summer wear, if you make it from summery fabric.
I wear this jumper a lot. I love the inset pockets and how comfortable it is. Personally, I like a little more width in my skirt -- enough to do a kick. The A-line skirt is just a little less wide than I like.
This pattern is pretty simple, and I recommend it for a good basic jumper pattern. You can purchase this pattern online at Kathy's Modest Clothing Common Sense patterns.
